Course Objective

Ability of students to design visually and pratically successful fabrics by integrating accuracy of designing and technical knowledge, develop their free mentality and artistic creativeness as their designer identity and create unique designs to lead to fashion in home textile worth to be introduced into international market by establish ralationships between space, textile and material as well as questioning the esence of the theme Home Textile Trends .

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 analyze, research for and comment on the trend determined for interior fabric design
2   2 set highlight points of the designing, do needed visual and literatural resarch and express them in speech and writing
3   3 develop the rationale of collection prepation and perform it in daily practice
4   4 prepare trend plot and story board, which is the basis of implementation project
5   5 make up color palette based on trend plot and story board
6   6 have knowledge of surface arrangement aimed at the product as well as sketching
7   7 acquire knowledge needed for designing principles and designning process
8   8 convert designing into finished item

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The theme of project is explored through visual and literatural processes to choose material to be used as designinig source.
Following the scetching, designs related to item are formed, some of which are chosen and turned into finished fabric using print, dye and associated methods under workshop/atelier conditions. New approaches are created through participation of classroom and each students in the design process without any prejudices and criticisms regarding them.

Practices
Staff member pays attention to experimental practices to increase creativeness in the process of designing output and behave in such a way to try to fine solutions to the problems concerned.

Assessment Criteria

Assessment, creativeness in designing, consistency of finished item with point of origin, suitability of designs to chosen item group and of chosen item to transition from designing to output and the technique s suitability and applicability to mass production are evaluated and graded.

1. Attendance of students to course is compulsory by 80 %
2. Any attempt to plagiarise and attempted plagiarism are punished by disciplinary committee
3. Failure to attend to course can not be an excuse for late submision of assignments and projects
