Course Objective

The course aims to study textiles and related surfaces, decorative pattern fashions and current variations which we wear and cover walls, analyse patterns through available samples and interpret and implement them without their very characteristics .

1   Be aware of how to classify textile patterns/designs
2   Correlate patterns with techniques
3   Establish a relationship between fabric types and patterns
4   Comment on pattern styles
5   Recognise pattern characteristics of different cultures and regions
6   Bring up new interpretations without pattern characteristics
7   Prepare their designs for output to be finished
8   Implement their patterns using a suitable technique

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Courses:One explains project process and what is the performance to be expected from project given within the context of the course.Students are guided on problems to be solved in transition from sketching to designing as well as scanning literature and preparing visuals.
2. Revising Sessions and Class Discussions:Criteria are discussed to ensure that research and studies are unique and suitable for projects and convertible to designs
3.Applications : After solution of problems of designs, presentation of design pannels is prepared with students individually consulting to their staff member/instructers and participating in assesment jury with their sketching books, presentation panels and application works

Course Policies and Rules

1.It is compulsory to maintain 70% of class attendance.
2. Any attempt for plagiarism results in disciplinary penalty.
3. Absence in the class is not a valid excuse for late submission of the projects and assignments.
4. In case of any late submissions, students lose point equal to one letter note for each day right after the dead-line.
