The principal aim of this lecture is to provide knowledge in general chemistry sufficient for a medical imaging technician. Some of the topics covered in the lecture include information that will ultimately be used in the student's future field. On the other hand some others include general chemistry knowledge which are necessary for the students to comprehend their various branch lectures. For example, a student with a knowledge of basics of light-matter interactions might better understand the effects of light beams on human body with varying frequencies; or what sort of beams are suitable for imaging certain types of organs in human body. Another example may be that a student armed with the knowledge of mol concept and density of solutions may better comprehend how chemical bathing process works with prints and their purposes. As a result our main goal is to upbring capable and resourceful students in various fields of medical imaging techniques. The ingredients of the chemistry lecture, as well as teaching techniques are selected carefully to fulfill this goal. |
