Course Objective

In this course, concept of health and sickness illness, disease aetiology,
epidemiology, health services, in terms of basic principles of disease, systems and
diseases,nutritional health, sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis, asepsis, nosocomial infections, by
definition, routes of transmission, prevention, occupational health and medical waste
management related knowledge, skills and competencies intended to gain to the student

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1.Define the basic definitions and concepts related to health.
2   2.Define the criteries which affect health
3   3.Discuss the effects of the biological health to mental health and lifestyle.
4   4.Define healthy nutrition and basic pricples of nutritional health
5   5.Discuss the policies of Sexual Health / Reproductive Health concept and scope
6   6.Explain the ways of transmission of infectious diseases. and how to prevent.
7   7.Definitions and concepts of hospital infection, risk factors, explain the
8   8.Discuss the concepts of disinfection, sterilization and their applications.
9   9.Discuss the concept of environmental health and the factors affecting it.
10   10.Difine enviromental services and how they work
