Course Objective

Computer Applications course has the objective of giving the students the knowledge to use the basic computer applications such as the usage of the internet, sending and receiving the emails, using the office programs which are word, excel and powerpoint.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to describe the basic applications of the computer for the business usage.
2   To be able to create an official file in word and excel and use it in professional writings.
3   To be able to send and receive emails and use the internet for searching information for a specific purpose.
4   To be able to create a presentation with powerpoint with own specific topic to a related public or audience.
5   To be able to apply all the computer knowledge in the daily life and professional life.

2 Creating a File in Word- Different Usage Options of Word Class application on the computer, each student tries to create their own files
3 APA Format of Writing and Referencing, different other styles MLA, etc. Study APA Style Rules, Try to learn the format
4 Searching an academic article on the web Try to search and find out an academic article about tourism
5 Writing a CV on Word Try to prepare own CV on word
6 Writing an Official Letter/Business Letter or Response to a business Letter on Word Try to write a complaint letter or reply to it for ex.

9 Rules of Preparing a Presentation on Powerpoint Prepare a powerpoint presentation to a specific audience

Teaching the course with the help of the audio-visual equipment in the Computer Lab. Each student should be practising on the computer the taught elements of the course during the lab hour.
