Course Objective

To provide knowledge in different surgical diagnosis

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows general clinical knowledge and surgical approach related to cardiac and vascular system 2   Generally defines urogenital system and diseases related to these systems 3   Knows physiological process of pregnancy and labor, possible complications and protection methods. 4   Knows postoperative surgical complications, liquid and electrolyte equilibrium and shock. 5   Knows surgical procedures of upper and lower abdomen, defines liver and pancreas diseases

Course Contents

Week Subject Description 1 Open hearth surgery 2 Vascular surgery,(CABG, vascular injury, fistules, aneurysmectomy etc) 3 Respiratory arrest- cardiac arrest and recuscitation, pre-op diagnositic methods, preparing patient to surgery 4 Post-op patient follow-up in CICU, medications and equipments used, new applications in GKD surgery 5 Anatomy of the genital organs, menstrual disorders and treatment, pregnancy and body systems 6 Diseases affected by pregnancy (DM, HT, Cardiac diseases, AC, musculoskeletal system diseases, rheumatoid diseases) clinical problems that may appear in pregnancy 7 Pregnancy and protection methods, Urogenital functions and diseases, gynaecological oncology 8 Mid-term exam 9 Post-operative complications and risk factors, surgical infections 10 Liquid and electrolyte equilibrium, shock 11 Upper abdominal surgery, lower abdominal cerrahi 12 Liver trauma 13 Malign hepatitis and treatment 14 Cystic tumours of pancreas
