Course Objective

Theoretical knowledge about the etiology of cancer, different types of cancer, medical treatment and physiotherapy techniques in oncological diseases are aimed to learn

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts and principles of oncological physiotherapy 2   Knows oncological diseases 3   Defines evidence-based approach to physiotherapy assessment and treatment of oncologic diseases 4   Know the mediacal treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy 5   Select the appropriate methods of physiotherapy assessment and treatment according to type of 6   Explain the concepts psychosocial rehabilitation of cancer 7   Know multidisciplinary team work

Week Subject Description 1 Concepts of Oncologic Physiotherapy 2 Definition and principles of oncologic rehabilitation 3 Assessment in oncologic rehabilitation 4 Assessment and management of cancer related pain 5 Assessment and management of cancer related fatique 6 Rehabilitation and palliation of patients with breast cancer 7 Rehabilitation and palliation of patients with breast cancer 8 Rehabilitation and palliation of patients with gastric and pancreatic cancer 9 Rehabilitation and palliation of patients with lung cancer 10 Rehabilitation and palliation of patients with colon and rectal cancer 11 Principles and practice in pediatric oncologic rehabilitation 12 Musculoskeletal oncologic rehabilitation 13 Rehabilitation and palliation of cancer patients in terminal care 14 Rehabilitation of the cancer patient at home
