Course Objective

Course Objective: To learn the effects of sensorymotor disorders in children on normal development and to learn physiotherapy assessment and treatment in sensorymotor disorders.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1- Knows normal motor development. 2   2- Knows effects of sensory motor disorders on normal development. 3   3- Does physiotherapy assessment in children with sensory motor disorder. 4   4- Plans treatment programme in children with sensory motor disorder. 5   5- Does sensory motor training in children with sensory motor disorder.

Week Subject Description 1 Normal motor development. 2 Development of visually impaired child. 3 Development of hear impaired child. 4 Development of motor impaired child. 5 Development of autistic child. 6 Development of child with mental retardation. 7 Development of child with Down syndrome. 8 Assessment and treatment of sensorymotor functions in Down Syndrome 9 Cause of hydrocephaly and its effect on normal motor development 10 Ethiology, type and prognosis of Spina Bifida. 11 Assessment of sensory motor function on Spina Bifida 12 Training of sensory motor functions on Spina Bifida 13 Ethiology, type and prognosis of Cerebral Paralysis. 14 Assessment of sensory motor function on Cerebral Paralysis
