Course Objective

Today, one of the most challenging problems of the humankind is, to learn how to live together on earth. Cultural, national, racial, ethnical and religious diversities have always been parts of reality. Moreover, increasing interdependency to each other, forces individuals, societies and nations to think about how to live together and develop behavioural skills with the help of appropriate believes, values and attitudes.
Aim of this course is to enrich the student's consideration of how to live together in peace and escalating their level of consciousness, by the light of the information mentioned above.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding concepts of culture, religion and peacebuilding
2   Realizing the relationship between "belief and values" -which shape the social life- and "culture and religion"
3   Producing ideas about principles of living in peace
4   Comprehending the importance of interdependency in life.
5   Developing individual skills which are necessary to build peace culture. (forgiving, establishing a dialogue, accommodating differences)

7 Relationship between interdependency principle and General System Theory
8 Midterm
9 Relations between peacebuilding and conflict resolution
10 Intergroup relations and process of peacebuilding
11 Contribution of Contact Theory to understand peacebuilding process
12 Conflict resolution between religious groups
13 Analysis of Emotional Climate concept
14 Educative approach to peacebuilding process (educational models of peacebuilding)
