Course Objective

Underwater rugby is a special sport discipline that is played in three dimensional area. In this sport, the sizes of the pool are 3.5-5.0 m in depth, 18-22 m in length and 12 m in width. Also, salty water filled a ball is used in this sport. The main aim of the course is to teach the rules, development, current status, national and international tournaments and tecnics and tactiques of underwater rugby to the students in Dokuz Eylül University, School of Sport Sciences and Technology.



Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Student will be able to describe underwater rugby and the game rules.
2   to give information about the historical development of underwater rugby.
3   to give information about national and international underwater rugby organisations.
4   to give information about game technics and tactics in underwater rugby.

In mid-term and final exams, the questions related to definitions of underwater rugby, explanation of the rules and training methods in underwater rugby will ve asked.
