Course Objective

Objectives of this course are to make the students master the playing rules and also to teach them basic skills (spike, block, serve, dive) related with novice volleyball players, to make the students be able to make novice players execute these skills and to master the rules and the training exercises of mini-volleyball.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning the playing rules -team formation, game systems, game movements- and making comments during the match.
2   Understanding the progressive teaching of parallel and cross court spike
3   Understanding the progressive teaching of spike serve (parallel and cross court serve)
4   Understanding the progressive teaching of single, double and triple block
5   Executing of the progressive teaching of overhead, underhand pass and serve by the students.
6   Mastering the rules and the training exercises of mini-volleyball.

1 Playing rules (team formation, game systems, game movements)
2 Watching a volleyball match and making comment on it
3 Progressive teaching of parallel and cross court spike
4 Progressive teaching of spike serve
5 Progressive teaching of single, double and triple block
6 Commenting on articles written about volleyball.
7 Progressive teaching of dive (front, side, somersault over shoulder, twist, landing on chest)
8 Playing rules of mini-volley
9 Studying examples of mini-volley training
10 Studying examples of mini-volley training
11 Explaining the progressive teaching of overhead pass by the students
12 Explaining of progressive teaching of underhand pass by the students , Explaining of progressive teaching of serve by the students
