Course Objective

To teach the archery competition rules, Turkish and the World archery history, archery specific basic technics (stance, hooking, draw, aim, release and follow-through), archery specific ability selection, individual and team competition tactics, how to teach to others arrow shooting, general tactical knowledge and teaching methods of these knowledge.

4   To implement and transfer the individual-team trainings
5   to associate the player characteristics and competition tactics

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Description of archery, history of archery, modern archery, archery competition rules, field and equipment knowledge
2 Safety rules during the practices. Stance and hooking practices.
3 Drawing and getting the shooting position.
4 Aiming (looking at the target practices with bow)
5 Release and follow-through
6 Getting the shooting position (stance positions at the shooting line)
7 the tactics during individual competitions
8 the shooting types and tactics during team competitions
9 basic equipment knowledge and bow settings
10 bow settings when it s stable, bow movement during drawing and releasing, and those settings
11 equipment choice and setting according to the athletes physical characteristics
12 teaching arrow shooting to people in all ages
