Course Objective

Objectives of this course are to teach students the details of pressure man-to-man defence (the most preferred defence type by the teams in present-day basketball) in theory and in practice. To teach students the details of pressure zone and combined defences in theory and practice.

1   Mastering the general principals of pressure man-to-man defences
2   Executing pressure man-to-man defence types and teaching them in progressive way
3   Mastering the general principals of pressure zone defence
4   Executing pressure zone defence types and teaching them in progressive way

1 General principals of pressure man-to-man defences.
2 The ways of executing pressure man-to-man defences. Advantages and disadvantages of these defences.
3 Pressure man-to-man defence in full court.
4 Pressure man-to-man defence in ¾ court.
5 Pressure man-to-man defence in half court.
6 General principals of pressure zone defences.
7 The ways of executing pressure zone defences. Advantages and disadvantages of these defences.
8 1-2-1-1 pressure zone defences
9 1-2-2 and 2-2-1 pressure zone defences
10 1-3-1; 2-1-2 and 3-2 pressure zone defences
11 General principals of combined defences. 1-4 (rectangle) combined defence.
12 1-4 (diamond) combined defence. 2-3 (triangle) combined defence.
