Course Objective

Understand the use of ergogenic aids, classification, expected effects, harmful effects, intake and doping for athletes to enhance performance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to classify the ergogenic aids
2   to be able to identify the beneficial and harmful effects of ergogenic aids
3   to be able to understand the quantity and duration of the use of ergogenic aids
4   to be able to learn the harmful effects of the doping substances.

2 The purpose of using ergogenic aids and their classification teo
3 Exercise before, during and after the nutrition and carbohydrate loading methods teo
4 Ergogenic aids releated to nutrition (Carbohydrates, the body's functions and classification of carbohydrates, muscle glycogen loading methods, benefits and harmful effects teo
5 Nutrition and fluid intake during, after and before competition
6 Intake, times and functions of proteins and lipids in the body

8 Daily requirement of vitamins and minerals (B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, mineral; iron, calcium, sodium, potassium, zinc)
9 Water, sports liquids, liquid requirement, alkali salts, carnitine,
10 Physiological aids (blood doping, erythropoietin, high altitude, phosphate salts, sodium bicarbonate salts
