Course Objective

Scope of the lecture is to examine community, individual, sub-community groups, culture and identity (sub-identities) with the help of examples on historical and contemporary urban settlements, globalization, post-modernism, meanning, tranformation, immigration, population, sheltering, gentrification in Turkey and other world cities.

1   Conceive the relationship between community and induvidual.
2   Perceive the aspect of culture and identity on spaces.
3   Conceive the new meanning of culture and identity
4   Understand the terms of industrial revolution, modernism, post-modernism, no-identity, globalization and determine present community.
5   Produce proposals on urban regeneration
