Course Objective

This course aims to examine the diagnostic criteria, differential diagnoses, epidemiological and etiological properties of, treatment approaches to and various case examples for psychiatric disorders classified in DSM-V. Depressive disorders; Bipolar and related disorders; Anxiety disorders; Obsessive compulsive and related disorders; Trauma and stressor related disorders will be covered in the framework of this course.

1   Be able to list diagnostic criteria of psychological disorders included in the course framework
2   Be able to explain differential diagnoses of psychological disorders included in the course framework
3   Be able to explain epidemiological properties of psychological disorders included in the course framework
4   Be able to explain etiological properties of psychological disorders included in the course framework
5   Be able to explain treatment approaches to psychological disorders included in the course framework

2 Basic theoretical approaches to abnormal behaviour
3 Classification systems and diagnosis
4 Clinical assessment, ethichs in assessment, and research methods in clinical psychology
5 Anxiety disorders (Panic Disorder, Agorafohobia, Specific Phobia, Social Phobia)
6 Anxiety disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Selective Mutism)
7 Panic Disorder, Agorafohobia, Social Phobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder presentations
8 Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders
9 Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders
