Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the basic concepts of psychopharmacology, different classes of pschoactive compounds, and pharmacological treatments available for major psychiatric disorders such as anxiety disorders.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to define basic psychopharmacology concepts
2   Be able to explain models in relation to various psychological disorders
3   Be able to compare different models explaining one particular psycological disorder
4   Be able to review the relevant literature on psychopharmacological models of psychological disorders
5   Be able to explain recent developments in relation to psychopharmacological models of psychological disorders
