Course Objective

Is to study psychological sources and meanings of mythologic and religious dynamics. Thus, to distinguish the significance of psychohistorical elements.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To recognize that mythological/religious rules, orders and purifying mechanisms are related to the super-ego in psychoanalysis. 2   To comprehend the importance of ecstasy as a mechanism and related to societal peace. 3   To distinguish that all religious and mythological systems point to a universal standard when viewed from the psychological perspective. 4   To differ how religious systems contribute to the individuation of societies and people. 5   To recognize that religion rationalizes the id and contributes to the formation of the ego .
