Course Objective

In this course will be discussed Byzantine terracotta lamps, glazed and unglazed ceramics, coins and seals, glass, ivory and metal objects which were produced between 4th and 15th centuries in the light of examples of museums.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The understanding of the main concept and terminology about terracotta lamps, glazed and unglazed ceramics, glass, ivory, stone and metal objects, coins and seals.
2   The objects which were produced between 4th to 15th centuries will be distinguished according to their typology, style, technic and chronological order.
3   The evaluation of these artifacts according to workshop, technic-material, the supply and demand points and the user profile. The determination of the artifacts within socially and economically
