Course Objective

This course aims to study the historical, cultural and political conditions in the Middle Ages and to define the universe of meaning of this period from artistic, literary and philosophical movements.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the student will be able; to recognize the historical and cultural conditions in the Middle Ages,
2   to compare the main thought-movements in the Middle Ages,
3   to distinguish the different periods in the Middle Ages,
4   to interpret the Mediavel texts in context of their own cultural conditions,
5   to distinguish the conditions that initiated the Renaissance.
