Course Objective

The objective of this course is to give the students the ability to evaluate texts critically in terms of psychoanalytic theory after they grasp the relationship among language, psychoanalysis, and literature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the student will be able to have idea about the prominent figures in the history of psychoanalysis,
2   grasp the relationship among language, psychoanalysis, and literature,
3   discuss the common and different points among psychoanalysis, psychiatry, and philosophy,
4   follow the psychoanalytic literature,
5   write psychoanalytic research essays.

Assessment Criteria

1. The examinations are prepared in a way that they will evaluate the students ability to assess the knowledge they get during the classes with a critical perspective.
2. Students are expected to give answers to open-ended questions so that they can develop their ability to write academically. Fort his reason, the answers should be in the essay form.
