Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce sign systems and the approaches of semiotics to sign systems, as well as to do semiotic analysis.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To use their knowledge of main approaches of semiotics; 2   To distinguish sign systems; 3   To analyze the application of signs; 4   To define semiotic structures, 5   To determine the presentation and functions of signs in arts.
