Course Objective

The objective of this course is to examine and analyze signs in the context of communication, texts, aesthetics, literature, the media and culture.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To distinguish signs in codes and communication,
2   To analyze textual signs in the context of rhetorics, style, narration, myths, ideology and hermeneutics,
3   To distinguish the use of signs in the arts;
4   To determine the signs used in the media;
5   To analyze the application of signs in interdisciplinary fields.
