Course Objective

This course aims to describe the world civilizations through basic events and phenomenons that humans have transferred from one generation to other since the beginnnig of humanity. The basic concepts of the history of civilisations, the basic problem areas of history of civilizations, old Asia Minor and Eigypt civilisations and cultures, Roman civilization, middle age, Renaissance and reforms, the age of enlightenment, American and French Revolutions, Industrial revolution, the movements of 19th century, the most important events of 20th century, the events after the 1st and 2nd world war are included in the content of this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the civilization and history concepts.
2   To be able to list the basic problems of history of civilisations.
3   To be able to talk about the important roles that the different individuals, people and cultures played over the history of humanity
4   To be able to understand the sustainablility of the relationships of people during their life with philosophy, literature and art.
5   To be able to understand the nature of historical evolution.
