Course Objective

The aim is to give the students increased knowledge of metabolism, physiology and structure of plants, a better understanding of regulation of growth and development and influence of environment

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the main concepts of plant physiology
2   To examine detailed characteristics of plant cells, relations of water and plant cells, water balance, mineral nutrition ans solute transport.
3   To teach the most important plant metabolism process; photosynthesis: light reactions carbon reactions and it s physiological and ecological considerations
4   To teach translocation in the phloem, respiration and lipid metabolism, assimilation of mineral nutrients, secondary metabolites and plant defense, cell walls structure.
5   To learn respiration and lipid metabolisms in detail.
6   To follow current scientific publications on plant physiology.
7   Being able to share information about plant physiology by oral and written language.
8   To understand the relations between experimental logic, analytical thinking, quantitative analysis and problem solving.
