Course Objective

The course aims at providing the student with the essentials of customs and foreign exchange operations with particular respect to the current customs, foreign trade and tax regulations and practice in Turkey.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to recognize different types of taxes and funds collected at the customs
2   Be able to demonstrate understanding of the rules and regulations on fines, exemptions, storage conditions at custom as well as anti-dumping applications
3   Become familiar with the general rules and regulations of the EU-Turkey customs union
4   Be able to recognise foreign exchange-related aspects of customs operations
5   Be able to recognise different types of documents and certificates, free circulation applications and rules of origin
