Course Objective

This course will enhance student's writing, reading, speaking and listening skills with the use of communicative approach.at pre-intermediate level using student centered techniques

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 The Passive The Simple Present Tense and the Simple Past Tense. Positive, negative and question forms.Active and passive sentences. Vocabulary:verbs: invent, discover etc.
2 Comparison of adjectives. As as / less than.Speaking: Buying clothes. Comparing prices and sizes.
3 Superlative Adjectives.Vocabulary: adjectives.Speaking: Making sentences with adjective (+ever+ present perfect ).
4 Modals: may,might (possibility). Reading: a passage with may might: Are you indecisive
5 Modals: must, mustn t (obligation). Speaking:Talking about rules . Example: You must turn off the mobiles before you come in.
6 Future with `Will . Positive, negative sentences,questions and answers. Vocabulary: Money and banking.Speaking:Problems about money. (continuance of the unit)
7 Midterm Exam

9 Quantity words. Little, a little-few, a few .Vocabulary: to boil,to mix, etc.
10 Quantity words. Too much, too many, too+sıfat. Speaking: About Cooking. (continuance of the unit)
11 First conditional. Vocabulary: sightseeing, hiking etc.
12 First conditional. Vocabulary: when. Speaking:About plans. Won t and its pronunciation (continuance of the unit )
13 Obligation-Have to/don t have to/can/can t.Vocabulary: Office equipments and Office activities: printer, go to a meeting, etc.
14 Obligation-Have to/don t have to/can/can t. Speaking: About a new job. Listening and Speaking: Expressing anger. (continuance of the unit )
