Course Objective

The course is designed to analyze the evolution of international economic institutions since the World War II. The analysis focuses on the post-war world configuration of international institutions, designed to manage international trade and monetary affairs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Student will get familiar with the global institutions designed to manage international trade and monetary affairs, in order to understand the world economic order especially after WW2.
2   have an essential understanding of the globalization process, as the background of international economic institutions
3   develop analytical skills based on reading and written expression

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will clearly discuss the relationship between national economies and international economic institutions.
2. The learner will be able to explain the effects on international economic institutions on welfare.
3. The learner will will be able to understand and analyse the academic texts written on globalisation and development of international economic institutions as well as to express those he/she learnt in written form.
