Course Objective

The aim if the course is to help the learner to become familiar with the subject matter and methodology of economic history. The course aims to give the learner an understanding of the development of economic relations in different societies in different time periods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the importance of economic history as a discipline.
2   Understand the spatial and temporal differences in economic development.
3   Recognize the importance of institutions in economic history.
4   Understand the relations between different modes of production.
5   Understand the development of capitalism in its historical context.
