Course Objective

It is aimed to provide students a thorough understanding of the strategic importance of production planning and how production planning activities can be used to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an understanding of different forecasting techniques in order to help decision making for long run planning.
2   Construct the material requirement planning matrices according to product structure tree to provide the schedule specifying the time that materials, parts and components should be ordered or produced
3   Create an aggregate production plan in order to translate business plans into broad labor and output plans for the intermediate term and minimize the cost of resources
4   Improve oral and written communication skills through group works, class discussions and presentations.

1. Students must construct a detailed report according to problem of firm
2. All group members must contribute to the solving phase of the firm problem and are expected to answer the questions at the end of the presentation.
