Course Objective

To provide theoretical method information required for scientific research aimed at making contributions to science or scientific methods, to examine different approaches in the field, to discuss scientific studies roadmap and quality level. To discuss the main professional approach and responsibilities in research and publication process of the scientists in the context of philosophy of science, to raise awareness of scientific ethics.

1   To identify purposes of science and scientific research
2   To explain and position theories which form a basis to methods for scientific research in historical perspective
3   To associate scientific research with different scientific perspectives
4   To evaluate scientific studies in terms of scientific criteria
5   To design a scientific research and method on his/her own including theoretical framework
6   To identify the ethical values and social responsibilities of a scientist
