Course Objective

Dam Hydraulics considers hydraulic questions related to the construction and the safety of dams. Dam Hydraulics treats the hydraulic principles of diversion during construction, bottom outlets, intake structures and overflow structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to use the basic knowledge of Hydraulics.
2   to acquire the basic concepts related to dam hydraulics.
3   to select the most suitable of the different solution methods.
4   to convert the numerical results to engineering applications.
5   to interpret the numerical results with regard to engineering applications.
