Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to understand EU s social policy, European Social Model, and the connections between Union s and Member States social policies and the effects of EU s social policy on Turkey as a candidate country.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand authority, responsibility and function of coordinating EU s social policy in member states
2   To understand the implementations and policies regarding unemployement and employement in EU, in the context of EU s social policies
3   To be able to analyse the effects of free movement of labour to EU socially and economically
4   To compare the change of social policies in member states and Turkey in respect to space and time
5   To evaluate the social and economical crisis and transformations in global scale and in EU, and its effects on Turkey as a candidate country

1. Students are obligated to participate 70% of the lectures

2. All kinds of palagiarism and attept of palagiarism shall be concluded by disciplinary punishment

3. Students supposed to read the materials before lecture and participate the classroom discussions

4. Students are expected to make presentations about the subjects given by the lecturer.
