Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to express aims of competition policy regarding European integration besides economic aims. It enables learners to understand competition legislation which were arranged under the competition policy. It gives knowledge on cartel agreements, abuse of dominant position and mergers /acquisitions and related cases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   apprehend the EU Competition Policy and its contribution to European integration,
2   have sufficient knowledge on economic theories under the EU competition policy
3   3. have sufficient knowledge on legislation adopted according to competition policy and implemented based on economic theories,
4   aprehend basic concepts of competition law,
5   apprehend and evaluate the decisions of the Commission and ECJ on competition cases.
