Course Objective

The objective of this course is to explain the fundamental elements of interpersonal and organizational communication; to improve communication skills; to understand the importance of communication at personal and organization levels; and to apply effective communication elements in global business environment by taking into account of intercultural differences.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to analyze the fundamental elements of interpersonal and organizational communication to understand the importance of communication process in businesses.
2   To be able to evaluate verbal and nonverbal behaviour of different cultures in terms of communication problems to grasp the impact of intercultural differences on communication.
3   To be able to examine various communication types to analyze the impact of communication network models used in organization communication on organization structure.
4   To be able to evaluate factors preventing and improving efficient commmunication to excel communication skills in personal and carrer lives.
5   To be able to understand basic elements of persuasive communication and apply affectively in discussions in defending a position in front of an audience.
