Course Objective

Development of human rights, situation of human rights in Turkey and Constitution of 1982, basic developments in the field of human rights in international law are aimed to convey to students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have full knowledge of basic concepts on the subject of human rights.
2   To be able to have human rights consciousness.
3   To be able to interpret provisions of Constitution of 1982 regarding fundamental rights and freedoms.
4   To be able to probe developments in the field of human rights
5   To be able to explain elements of international human rights law.

5 Recent developments regarding human rights in Turkey
6 Recent developments regarding human rights in Turkey II and individual communication to Constitutional Court

11 Protection of human rights by international law
12 Protection of human rights in United Nations system
13 Protection of human rights within European Council
14 European Convention on Human Rights

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lesson will be teached by lecture, examining of case studies regarding human rights in the lesson, exemplifying of several court decisions and narratives, preparing homeworks and students' attendance to lesson .
