Course Objective

The objective of this course is to comprehend criminal norms and rules which are acted for preventing crimes by electronic communications. And also this course is aimed to teach practicing of these norms and rules.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Deeply discussing of informatics concepts.
2   To learn the differencies between other crimes and crimes by electronic communications
3   To assess legal regulations on crimes by electronic communications in terms of sufficiency.
4   To opine about special legal problems such as crime place(locus crimini problem)
5   To opine about other crimes which are regulated in criminal code by electronic communications

2 Informatics, internet and crime concepts.
3 Brief historical account, general survey of the regulations in informatics.
4 Crimes by electronical communications which are regulated in Turkish Criminal Code- (generally)
5 Turkish Criminal Code Article 243 (Access to data processing system)
6 Turkish Criminal Code Article 244
7 I.Midterm Exam
8 Turkish Criminal Code Article 245(Improper use of bank or credit cards)
9 Offenses Against Privacy and Secrecy of Life by means of electronical communications
10 Perpetrating of classical crimes in Turkish Criminal Code by means of electronical communications.
11 Convention on Cybercrime
12 Look-up, copy, intercept on computers.
13 Locus crimini problem on internet
14 Child pornography
