Course Objective

The aim of this course is to demonstrate the importance of reception theory which is a method in literary studies in literary translation by practice.

1   Learn the reception theories and approaches.
2   Evaluate the role of the reception theory and hermeneutics in literary translation.
3   Comprehend the importance of the background knowledge of the translator in literary translation.
4   Learn how translation is received in today s culture.
5   Discover how literary works are perceived by publishing houses.
