Course Objective

To introduce Seerah and Maghazi disciplines and sources and to enable the students to learn and comprehend the Meccan period of Prophet Muhammad.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Get knowledge about the sources of Islamic history; social and religious life of Arabs in pre-Islamic period; the pre-nubuwwa life of Prophet Muhammad and his spreading faith
2   Get knowledge about the first Muslims and what they encountered and about major events in Mecca.
3   Get knowledge about the Hijrah, major events of Medina and the expeditions of the Prophet.
4   Learn the social, political and religious life of the Muslims in the time period of the Prophet
5   Gain the ability of criticizing and analyzing in order to understand and evaluate the historical events
6   Learn, comprehend and teach properly the Prophet Muhammad s life, personality and his contributions to human life
