Course Objective

It is aimed to convey the development of human rights, the situation of the human rights in Turkey and Turkish Constitution and the basic developments of human rights area in international law.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have a comprehensive knowledge of the basic concepts of human rights.
2   To be able to achieve an awareness of human rights
3   To be able to interpret the provisions relating to fundamental rights and freedoms in 1982 Constitution
4   To be able to examine the developments in human rights
5   To be able to explain the elements of international human rights law

6 Restrictions and suspension of the exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms in 1982 Constitution
7 Current developments of human rights in Turkey
8 Current developments about human rights in Turkey and right of individual communication to Constitutional Court
9 Protection of human rights in international law
10 Protection of human rights in UN system
11 Protection of human rights within Council Europe and European Convention of Human Rights
12 Litigation in European Court of Human Rights within European Convention of Human Rights
