Course Objective

The course aims in teaching constitutional changes as a result of modernization from Empire to Republic, contribution of intellectuals on awareness of citizenship, temporary changes in rights and freedoms, women s recognition of citizenship identity and participation in policy, effects of urbanization and development of civil society on the citizenship awareness.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define awareness of citizenship
2   compare models of citizenship between Empire and Republic
3   connect citizenship with constitutions
4   analyze effects of election systems, political parties and non-governmental organizations to the citizenship
5   evaluate the relationship between modernization and citizenship
