Course Objective

The aim of the course is to redescribe actual situation of modern Turkey, to teach persons and political currents which played role in the Turkish Enlightment, to understand and to analyze history, economic situation and political world of Republic of Turkey.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to know about the Ottoman modernization
2   to know about thought currents occured during the Ottoman modernization
3   to become aware of dinamics of the republican thought
4   to learn about political traditions of Left and Right and describe their role on democracy of Turkey
5   to analyze effects of Coup d état to constitution in Turkey
6   to assess changing dinamics of political thought in Turkey
