Course Objective

The aim of this course is provide to have knowledge about topics of current studies on security, international regulations and security risk factors, emphasize the importance of safety, to bring the level of knowledge that allows to perform security-related research and scientific investigations.

Course Contents

1 Introduction, Definitions and Security Concept, International Regulations; home works; Terrorist Organizations , Maritime Terrorist Attacks, Concepts of Piracy.
2 History of Terrorism, The Concept of Terrorism, Possible Attack Methods, Security Principles, Physical Security Equipments,
3 ISPS (Internetional Ship and Port Facility Security Code), Responsibilities (Governments, ports, managements, vessels)
4 Precaution against the stowaway and asylum seekers, Identification of Potential activists (determination escalate), Safety Records and Reports
5 Examination of scientific studies related to Security Management, Control and compliance procedures in ports and on ships, piracy, Piracy incidents were reported to IMO
6 Preparation and Implementation of Ship Security Assessment, Control of the Ship Security Assessment.
7 Midterm exam
8 Security equipment for, Ship search Plan and Potential Areas of Search
9 Port activities in General Identification and Facility Security
10 Port Facilities Security and Port Facility Security Assessment, Port Facility Security Officer
11 Port Facility Security and Organization,
12 Security Management; Documentation, follow-up, control, To report non-compliances.
13 Safety Training, Training requirements and training techniques
14 Ship and port facility security analysis of the studies about the importance of the concept of security
