Course Objective

To examine the development of the political-administrative structure in the modernization process,
To understand the impacts Postmodernist globalization process on political-administrative structure
To interpret impacts postmodern process on public administration and bureaucracy of Turkey with the past and the future

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to learn administrative structures of different levels of social development, and the political and administrative structure of traditional societies
2   Being able to understand the effects of industrial revolution on administrative structure and to learn political and administrative structure in modern societies
3   Being able to understand theories of bureaucracy
4   Being able to understand the historical development, the transformation of administrative structure of Turkish society and and modernization of the Ottoman Empire and the bureaucracy.
5   Being able to understand the bureaucracy of the Republican period; bureaucracy in single-party and multi-party period and the postmodern affects: the political system, public administration and transformation of the bureaucracy
