Course Objective

The aim of course is to describe the duties of employers under the social Social Security and Universal Health Insurance Law no.5510. On completion of this course students will be familiar with the duties of employers and able to apply the major rules in solving problem questions in this area.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have the ability to establish correct relationships between the social security cases and court decisions
2   To have the ability to explain what are the obligations of employers under the Social Security and Universal Health Insurance Law no.5510
3   To have the ability to apply the short term insurance provisions of Law no. 5510 to specific social security cases
4   To have the ability to apply the long term insurance provisions of Law no. 5510 to specific social security cases
5   To have the ability to analyse the existing law critically

1 Case solving according to the notion of employer.
2 Analysis of the court decisions related to the notion of employer
3 Employer's obligation to notify the employees to the Social Security Institution
4 Case solving related to the persons covered and uncovered under the Law no. 5510
5 Case solving related to the provisions on the beginning of insured status and on the notion of workplace
6 Employer's responsibility to pay contributions
7 Mid-term exam
8 Employer's obligations in terms of work accident and occupational diseases insurance
9 Employer's obligations in terms of sickness insurance and maternity insurance
10 Employer's obligations in terms of old-age insurance
11 Employer's obligations in terms of invalidity insurance
12 Employer's obligations in terms of survivors insurance
13 Employer's obligations in terms of Universal Health Insurance
14 General assessment
