Course Objective

Getting more advanced knowledge than the former given in post graduate lessons on the texts regarding to Hadith literature, working on the texts selected from Hadith sources concerning classical period and the modern era.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Reminding Hadith reading and teaching methods and decencies must be followed,
2   Reading Arabic texts elected from Hadith literature (mainly The six books) with their commentaries,
3   Studiyng on new and old works written on methodology of Hadith, Examining articles that have been written in Turkish, Arabic and English with regard to Hadith sciences,
4   Memorizing at least forty hadiths concerning islamic jurisprudence and morality and faith,
5   Expanding horizons by developing information on the rawi (transmitter), marwi and riwayah by means of scientific texts.

Prior studies on selected documents in foreign language, reading them and discussing on the subjects in the texts.

The exams are in written form (classical or testing); semester work (homework) is in the form of verbal lecture.

Assessment Criteria

Written exams (midterm and final) and the points obtained over 100 in the semester are collected by calculating on certain percentages.

Attendance and to fulfill assignments and tasks carefully and on time is essential. Students will be able to express themselves and to make the team working and will be continuous liaison wtih books in their field, will improve the ability of using technical and technological means, especially the Internet.
