Course Objective

To learn the emergence and development of the Theology of Ahl al-Sunnah, considering all its historical conditions, and to prepare the ground for understanding of systematic Kalam s subjects correctly.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students, will have information about the factors leading to the emergence of Kalam of Ahl al-Sunnah and its historical progress.
2   will have information on the emergence of Maturidi school and the scholars of this period.
3   will have information on the next period of Maturidi school and its scholars.
4   will obtain the assessment opportunities on the circulation and the historical adventure of metaphysical thought.
5   will have information about value and effects of Maturidi school for present.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Midterm and Final Exam:
In Mid-term and final exam, the students are asked questions in classical style about the resources, the schools, the scholars of the History of Islamic Theology and literature and their salient features.

Homework:
The student prepares a composition about the resources, the schools, the scholars of the History of Islamic Theology, and then presents this composition in printed output.

Assessment Criteria

The students will be assessed based on success in their mid-term, homework assignment and final exams along with their performance during the classes throughout the semester.
