Course Objective

To enable the students to comprehend the social groups in Ottoman society and learn their judicial status; to learn the emergence and function of the institutions in the field of politics, law, military and economy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns the groups in Ottoman society and their judicial status.
2   Learns the emergence of the institutions in the field of politics, law, military and economy in Ottoman Empire.
3   Learns the function of the institutions in the field of politics, law, military and economy in Ottoman Empire.
4   Learns the influence of the institutions on Islamic history and present day.
5   Learns the local and foreign sources related to Ottoman history and gains skill to use them.
