Course Objective


To examine the rise, growth and expansion periods of Ottoman Empire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be able to design connection between present and past
2   be able to explain of the past effects on present
3   be able to describe of the similarities between modern problems and realities and past ones
4   be able to identify of differences between recent and past events, understanding of these differences, recognition of critical perspective necessity for this kind of understanding
5   be able to define the struggle shown by the Ottoman Empire as an universal power, the effects of Ottoman battles on the other societies, the impact of these effects on modern Turkish identity and image.
