Course Objective

The lesson aims to analyse fashion which is integrated with many factors such as design, trade, consumption, technology, social events, human body and identity along with its social, cultural and artistic aspects within historical process it has gone through. Thus, it is aimed to give students the ability of studying the reflections of significant facts which composes design on clothing fashion.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1-The ability of scanning literature on the history of clothing
2   2-The ability of distinguishing historical clothes based on their periodical features
3   3-The ability of making a connection between the periodical clothing forms and silhouettes
4   4-The ability of analysing periodical details in clothes along with model, material and accessories
5   5-The ability of identifying the effects of historical clothes on the present by the information given above

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

During the first few weeks, the lecturer informs students on the course content and sources and gives each student a subject of research. The lecturer presents the notes visually he / she prepared using different sources. During the last three weeks students gives presentation on the subject.
